our 3 day cruise

Kokomo by The Beach Boys on Grooveshark

we started off our trip on Wednesday, and headed down to SLC, Utah to do a little shopping & ate dinner with my sister and her family. That night we ate dinner at PF Changs (chinese sounded soo good) and then the girls did a little shopping at Target, I am always in love when i go into a normal sized Target (this wasn't even a super target)... our closest Target has to be on the top 10 list for the smallest targets ever.

so after that me, ty, and lex headed back to our hotel and i started feeling way uneasy.. and it stayed that way for the rest of the night.. and finally around 1 -i got sick, the nasty kind that feels good for about 10 minutes after and then resets itself to feel like major crap again.. it was like that every hour after from then on... i maybe got an hour of sleep, from 7-8 & then ended up getting up for good & still felt a little like death.. we debated about what to do since our flight was suppose to leave around 4.. but my husband basically gave me no choice- we weren't missing the cruise & red sox spring training-- so i got my bum up and had my sister run some errands for us - including a LARGE bottle of lysol and about 4 more travel sizes.. the rest of the day consisted of just feeling uneasy but no more throwing up.

We obsessively washed our hands & lysol'ed everything down that i came in contact with.. my worst nightmare was that tyson was going to get it & we would be in for a long vacation treat. Luckily we made it through the trip with no more getting sick and i was SOO glad i sucked it up on Thursday and just went.. by Saturday (day at the bahamas) i was feeling much more like myself and didn't rely on any naps to get my energy back.

Our cruise was fun, but our weather was crappy - when you think bahamas you sure don't think 60 degree rainy, windy weather.. but that's what we had! Oh, and thanks to the bug, I had zero appetite so i didn't enjoy the all you can eat factor either!  But we had one day at the Bahamas, so we went with a group of people to a "private beach" where they had vendors & some excursions. The boys went off snorkeling for about an hour while me and another wife layed out on the beach with the babes. I was sold on getting lexi's hair braided! She loves getting her hair played with so she sat their so patiently.. not to mention they are sooo fast at those braids so it didn't take long! My favorite memory from that day, was when we were at one point sitting on the beach, under an umbrella with babies and it was DOWNPOURING, luckily all the guys had just got off their excursion and were back in time to hold down the fort while they got drenched, keeping us as dry as possible - first we were laughing then we turned to slight panic thinking holy crap we need to get off this beach.. luckily it started to let up and tyson ran to get a cab for the crew... so we decided to head back to the boat & change & eat lunch then we went back out with clothes on (sadly i brought hardly anything warm with us.. should have checked the forecast in advance!) and hit up the market place & some secretive shops where they sell knock offs - those places always sketch me out though ha!

oh and we were on a carnival cruise, and we survived :)

  1. Sounds like a great trip! Glad you didn't end up like those poor travelers on Carnival in the gulf.

What stroller is that? I need to get an umbrella stroller but I refuse to get one that doesn't have storage underneath.

    Thanks!

    1. It's a The First Years stroller! the only problem I have had from traveling so much with it is the handle bar pad on one side is ripping apart - but still love it!

  4. That's a bummer that the weather was crummy! At least you got some good pictures and ended up having a good time anyway. I went on a Carnival Cruise this past summer for our honeymoon and we had a blast!
