Summer Road Trip Part 1 // Cadillac Ranch, Tent Rocks Monument, Moab

We had quite the road trip this summer going from Texas all the way to Idaho!
We decided to make a fun little trip out of it and hit up some scenic spots
to make the trip less dreadful!

First Stop on our Trip was Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, TX!
It was a fun little side of the road stop!
Next stop was Route 66 Midpoint Cafe..
(totally made sure to have Cars playing for the girls on this leg of the trip)
then we were back on the road where we stayed our first night in Sante Fe!

We gave Sante Fe, NM & the El Dorado hotel we stayed at 4out10 stars! haha
We were not big fans.. sketchy people, no ac, & other little things left us not diggin what Sante Fe had to offer.. Our hotel looked way nicer on the website then in person.. so maybe pass on that one if you are ever in Sante Fe!

The next morning we woke up bright and early to get to Tent Rocks National Monument!
This was SOOO worth the extra little detour!
Our gps accidentally got set on the wrong location.. so we basically drove all the way to Albuquerque before realizing.. so that added on an annoying 30-45 minutes to our drive that day..
The place was gorgeous though!! The hike was about 3 miles.. 1.5 in & 1.5 out.. Lexi did the whole thing (age 8) & Zoey.. well Zoey(age 3) rode on Tyson's shoulders for the majority of it! The only downfall to the hike was that, you are walking through sand.. so sand piles up in shoes.. our tennis shoes kept out more than Lexi's sperry shoes she had on. But I highly recommend this place!!

After our hike we got back on the road and headed to our next stop Moab, UT!
This was by far our favorite town & highly recommend it!
Our hotel we gave 10 out of 10 stars and loved everything Moab had to offer!
We let the girls swim at the pool and then we hit up the shops on main st. & grabbed dinner!

The next morning (3rd day of the road trip)
we woke up bright and early again to hike to the Delicate Arch!
It was another 3 mile hike.. 1.5 uphill & then 1.5 dowhill'ish.. The hike in was brutal mainly towards the middle of it but Lexi was able to do the whole thing, so proud of her & Zoey got shoulder & back rides to get through it! We were told my soo many to go early to beat the sun & to bring lots of water! We did go early & we lucked out with cloud coverage for majority of it which I think helped! I can't imagine doing that hike mid-day!  The views were seriously gorgeous & very different from the hike the day before.. they each had their own unique backdrops & i'm so glad we added them both to our trip! After the hike we headed back to the hotel & grabbed some complimentary breakfast before heading out on the road to get to our final destination Rexburg, ID "(Tysons hometown)!
