Under Stairs Closet - Phase 2

Remember this SPACE from instagram stories?!
Well it's finally getting a blog post it deserved!

This is what it looked like back from my Phase 1 Blog Post?

From nasty lightbulbs with a whole bunch of clutter
this closet quickly became one of my favorite makeovers we did in 2019!

Not only did the stairs get a MAJOR makeover this past year..
but our UnderStairs Closet did too!

It's crazy how such a small space can make such a big impact!
Ty's makeshift "closet doors" he added to the simple shelves he made
in Phase 1
made all the difference in the world!

And that DIY Paint Pattern on the ceiling was just the icing on top!
I had toyed around with the idea of wall papering the ceiling
but ultimately went with the DIY Paint accent and I'm so glad I did!!
Paint Colors I used:
V Shape:
The Dot:

Door Color: Sherwin Williams Magnet Dapple

Leftover vertical shiplap from one of our Bathroom Renovation mishaps
(which you can catch up on over here)
turned into what Ty thought would be a trial space where he could "practice" doing it..
turns out he can do anything he sets his mind to and it looks pretty dang good for a first timer!
All the different slants in the ceiling and in the built in shelves made it a bit more tricky than
he first anticipated but he sure learned a lot along the way!

We try to stay as 'clutter free' as we can.. but honestly clutter happens.
But, I'm thankful we are able to "shut a door" on the games shelves!
A closet door inside of a closet.. genius! haha

Rug: HOMEGOODS
Dry Erase Calendar: Homegoods / Similar(you can always whitewash the wood to look like mine)
Door Handles: Hobby Lobby
DIY Ceiling Paint you can watch that process in hi-lites towards the end!
Hanging Basket: Target

Much Better right?

To watch some behind the scenes head to Instagram where I
walked & talked you through the whole process saved in these hi-lites!
