This was seriously the best family date night we have ever had!
We called and ordered food (since i'm better at whipping up forts rather than delicious meals)
so while Ty went to grab dinner, green snacks, and us a movie, I prepped our living room to make a fun little fort and pallet for the night! When I was brainstorming on how I could make a fort I remembered we had our outdoor canopy still in the garage that would work perfect for it! It actually didn't take long at all to set up, I headed to the linens closet and grabbed an old down comforter, sheets, and some pillows then stole some lights from the playroom and strung them from the ceiling. And voilah!
I was pretty impressed with what
and of course my obvious question to myself was,
why have I not made one of these before now?!
pretty sure it might stay hanging all week long
Since it is St. Patrick's Day this week,
I searched for an Irish themed movie...
All I could come up with for our family movie was on Netflix and it's called The Last Leprechaun.
It was by no means a 5 star movie, but Lexi was sure enthralled in it & it did have a fun little leprechaun! If you are able to grab another movie for the family,
I'd recommend Darby O'Gill And the Little People.
After Lexi went to bed,
We put in Leap Year for us and it was such a good romantic comedy,
and Ireland is such a beautiful country!
Hope you put this little family date night on your bucket list, your kids or husband will love it!

Great idea. It brings back a lot of the great memories I had with building forts with my older brother. Which my son just tried building his own today, he's 3. I will have to try this with my boys and hubby. If your looking for a good movie for the hubby and yourself that's Irish themed. My personal fav is, "The Quietman" with John Wayne. Love that moive and Darby O'Gill and the Little People.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds and looks like so much fun! I hope one day when I'm grown and have a family I can think of super fun things like this to do together! :) Your little one is so precious!!
